The SEMOP

Since the first of April 2021, operational management of the Port Rhénan de Colmar Neuf-Brisach industrial port zone has been entrusted to a single-operation mixed enterprise (SEMOP), the first of its kind in the river transport sector.

Port Rhénan Colmar Neuf-Brisach SEMOP is owned as follows:

  • 51 % by CFNR Transport SAS
  • 34 % by the SMO Port Rhénan de Colmar Neuf-Brisach
  • 15 % by the Banque des Territoires

This innovative structure has ushered in a new dawn for the Port Rhénan.

CFNR TRANSPORT SAS

CFNR Transport specialises in river transport and multimodal logistics. It consists of 4 chartering agencies located in the primary maritime centres in France and Europe, and organises water transport for goods across Europe. CFNR Transport is also the temporary concessionary for Ports Lorrains.
Thanks to these two activities and support from the Rhenus network, CFNR Transport is an effective and respected global logistics operator.

SMO DU PORT RHENAN
DE COLMAR NEUF-BRISACH

Voies Navigables de France (VNF), the Grand Est region, the CCI Alsace Eurométropole, Colmar Agglomération, and the Communauté de Communes Pays Rhin Brisach came together to form the Syndicat Mixte pour la Gestion du Port Rhénan de Colmar Neuf-Brisach (SMO). This has allowed them to pool their resources and ensure the effective management and development of Port Rhénan de Colmar Neuf-Brisach.
The SMO made a strategic decision to work alongside a private partner to administer the port, constituting a SEMOP mixed enterprise for this sole purpose.

BANQUE DES TERRITOIRES

La Banque des Territoires, a subsidiary of the public Deposits and Consignments Fund, supports local professionals and organisations with the development and deployment of their projects for the future.
